When you have a cool termagaunt miniature or a beautiful base and you want to add more details on it. How do you wish to add more details to improve its look. Well I've got the you a reason to smile now for the Crystals is the best answer for it. Imagine your base that was being added by a crystal on sides, how cool can that be. This time adding not just the crystals on your warhammer bases but also putting on sand as well as painting it to add more variety. In this article you will learn how to make Warhammer crystals that you can add to your base or on any terrain.

Materials List-sprues-paint brush-sanding paper-PVA glue (white glue)-assorted paints

Step 1 cutting your sprues

There is no need to buy sprues on the store just extra sprues that you can see in your working area. Cut off a few small pieces from them, just be sure that its pretty clean from its markings or numbers that was place on your sprues. Because sprues usually comes up with on it. Crystals with any markings on it specially numbers will look quite off. So just double check the sprues that you will use for your crystals.

Step 2 Sand and Shape

After you have your sprues already, begin sanding your sprues into crystal shaped pieces. Imagine that you will put your sprues on the bases of your warhammer miniature so the size will be quite small.

Step 3 Glue crystals to base

When you have your sprues sanded and shaped like crystals, glue a couple crystals to random areas of your base or anywhere you like. Crystals that are glued on an angle give your warhammer base an added touch that looks great.

Step 4 Glue sand

Next, brush on PVA glue (whit glue) onto the rest of your warhammer base and sprinkle on fine sand, and then after sprinkling shake off excess sand that did not stick onto the glue. Then leave it to dry for few minutes

Step 5 Painting crystals

When it is already dry, its time to paint your crystals. Begin by applying your first base coat of color to your crystals. Lets just use a liche purple color paint so that it will be easily recognized. Next, dry brush warlock purple, and then tentacle pink. After dry brushing, give it few more minutes to dry, after that add a wash blue ink. Make sure to water down the blue ink, otherwise it'll saturate the crystal leaving you with no visible undercoats.

Step 6 Paint the sand (optional)

I f you have some time left and still want to add more beauty to your warhammer, this suggestion can be done. You can paint the sand aside from the crystals, to give good contrast dry brush your sand by codex gray paint. Make sure to leave some of the natural color showing through. And finish it off by lightly dry brushing some skull white.

All About Soap Making: Clear Glycerine Soap

ที่ 4:46 PM 0 ความคิดเห็น
By Gary Everson
In this article I explain the misnomer of glycerine soap, offer advice on how to make clear soap at home and explain what glycerine is and what it does, its benefits and properties
Glycerin is a sweet tasting, colorless, thick liquid that has a high boiling point, it freezes to a paste and is a humectant, which means that it attracts moisture. It is also a natural by-product in the soap making process. Commercial manufacturers remove a significant quantity of glycerin from soap to be used in more expensive lotions and creams.

Glycerine was first discovered in 1779 in the saponification process, today, glycerine is found in and sourced from animal fats, vegetable oils and synthetically from petrochemicals.
It is generally thought that Glycerine is an ingredient added to handmade soap but as stated above it is actually a by-product of the soap making process (saponification). Clear soap is often mistaken for glycerine soap when in fact all handmade soap contains glycerine, a treatment using alcohol and sugar is what makes the soap clear and this is what people generally refer to as glycerine soap. You can add extra glycerine to improve the moisturizing properties of the soap but it is not a necessity. Glycerin soap combined with selected oils can be a great way to relax and mixed with carefully selected herbs and essential oils can be great for acne suffers, it is also very mild and gentle so can be used by children. The most often used method for making glycerine soap is the melt and pour method. This is simply done by taking an opaque soap base melting it and then adding the alcohol and sugar to turn it clear.

Researchers at the Medical College of Georgia found that glycerine makes skin look, feel and function better by attracting moisture and by helping skin cells mature properly; they also discovered that it helps convert fats or lipids in the external, protective membrane. All cells have this layer, but skin cells secrete extra lipids to form a protective barrier. "Think about it. If there was not some sort of barrier, when you took a bath, all the water would go into you and you would blow up like a balloon." This research is not news to natural soap makers who for years have been telling the virtues of real soap over mass-produced chunks of soap full of chemicals that are cheap, but not skin-friendly.

Transparent soap can be purchased as a clear Melt & Pour base, or made at home, but this is a moderate to advanced technique. It is created by taking previously made cold process soap, re-melting it and adding high proof alcohol such as strong Vodka or Ethanol, dissolved sugar is then added to the mix and depending on the type of oils used and the effectiveness of the alcohol, resulting in soap almost as clear as glass.

I have purposely kept the description for this technique very general to pique your interest and also because the exact technique is quite difficult, exacting and far too involved to describe here. If you are interested in the exact technique, try searching the internet for "make clear soap" or "make transparent soap" without the quotes.

Want to learn All About Soap Making, but haven't a clue where to start? Gary Everson's FREE course will show you how, from the basic techniques with a detailed explanation of theraputic soaps, to cold process and melt and pour recipes, followed by comprehensive safety and legal information and finishing by turning it all into a business, with an extra bonus at the end.

By Michelle Bery
There are few among us who do not own a quilt; beautifully constructed, deliciously warm, and often chock-full of memories. The art of quilting has been in existence for generations; women spent hours making quilts to keep their families warm. Decades later the same quilts would be hung on walls as sentimental decoration; and even those quilts that are made today are used to add decorative warmth to homes. Quilting patterns have made the art of quilting possible for everyone – providing a host of beautiful designs from which to work.

Today’s quilt makers often use events as inspiration, making a quilt for a new baby, a housewarming gift, or a special birthday celebration. The creation of these quilts, like that of their historic counterparts, requires patience, focus, and creativity. But when it comes to design, quilting patterns can offer suggestions – and step-by-step instruction – on making beautiful and inspiration quilts.

Quilt makers choose from literally thousands of quilting patterns available in fabric stores and online – where quilting patterns are even available for free download – based on their personal ideas for the overall look of the quilt. Or they can turn to quilting patterns for inspiration if they are not quite sure in what direction they want to go. Patterns range from holiday themes and baby themes to bold designs and flowery art. The choices are endless. Once the quilters choose their quilting patterns, they use it to walk them through each element of the design. In some cases appliqués can be sewn directly onto the quilt. Some quilters even choose to transfer favorite photos are artwork right onto the surface of their quilt.

Quilting patterns are available for any theme you could ever consider and some you wouldn’t have thought existed. Begin by choosing quilting patterns based on what you want to accomplish and then choose fabric and thread accordingly. The use of quilting patterns will save you quite a bit of time and allow you to systematically and efficiently produce a beautiful quilt you can admire for a lifetime.

There are a lot of people out there who enjoy playing bingo. It's true that the game is very simple to learn and play, but that doesn't mean that it's not fun! In fact, the ease of game play is one of the attractions of the game - you don't need to learn complicated rules - you can just sit down and start playing. What's more, somebody new to bingo can be introduced to the game, learn the game mechanics, and join in, with a few minutes.

As you know, bingo is traditionally played using bingo cards contain a grid of squares (usually 5 by 5 squares), with each of these squares containing a number. Players cross out squares on their cards when the corresponding number is announced by the bingo caller. Today however, since it is easy to make custom bingo cards with your computer, themed versions of bingo, with the squares containing words or phrases, are increasingly popular.

Our calendars are filled with holidays and special days, both religious and secular, and these days present a perfect opportunity to play bingo. Whether it be Christmas, July 4th, Halloween or President's Day, you can easily adapt bingo to the occasion - simply by using bingo cards containing words or phrases relating to your chosen holiday theme.

Although bingo remains a popular leisure activity, it is also finding serious use in education, including K-12 and English as Second Language ("ESL"). Basic skills such as reading and recognizing words (especially "Sight Words") can be practiced, and more sophisticated variations of the game can be used for more advanced students.

Bingo Card Maker Software

One of the attractions of bingo is that while being a lot of fun, it is also incredibly easy to learn how to play. If you get a bingo card and show it to somebody, you can explain how to play the game in just a few minutes.

In the traditional game of bingo, each player is given a bingo card containing an array of squares arranged in a 5 by 5 grid. Each square on the card contains a different number, and players mark off squares from the cards as numbers are called out by the bingo caller. While this basic game can be a lot of fun, more and more people are today turning to variants of the game. Using a computer and bingo card maker software, it's very easy to print custom bingo cards with squares containing words, phrases, or even math problems, instead of numbers.

With so many people getting together, holidays are in fact a perfect opportunity to play bingo. Obviously if playing on (or in the run-up) to one of these holidays, it's more fun to play using bingo cards themed around the holiday. Whether it be Christmas, Easter, St. Valentine's Day, New Year, July 4th, Halloween, or any other holiday, you can play bingo - in each case picking words or phrases for the cards that relate to the particular holiday in question.

Many teachers are also turning to bingo as a classroom activity. The game is well suited to use in schools, since it can be adapted in a wide variety of different ways, game play mechanics can be varied, and of course cards on literally any theme or subject can be prepared. Younger students can benefit from bingo by practising reading the items on the cards, in math lessons, students can be required to write in answers to problems rather than simply mark off squares, and in language lessons students can be required to recognize items written in one language when bingo calls are made in another.

Cape let is most demanded design in modern times. There are different patterns of this caplet. Cape let is also called as cape or collar. If you want to knit capelet then you can design your own type of capelet by your favorite yarn, color. In this you can vary the length of the capelet or you can add the collar to any capelet and you will get the different type of it.

This pattern is hand knit capelet pattern. For this you have to knit from neck to ham down. For this purpose make use of the circular needle. if you wants the collar caplet then you can attach roll collar of about 1.5". To design this capelet you have to measure basically three lengths which are neck opening, shoulder width and front length.

This caplet needs approximately 20 gram balls of mohair yarn in which each ball had about 90 meters of yarn. For knitting you should have minimum one circular needle which must be sufficiently long so as to hold all the stitches at the hem of the cape. For this purpose you need 16" near the neck and around 24" near the hem.

The main characteristic of this caplet are as follows:

While knitting you have to knit from neck to hem in down word direction with the help of circular needle. For this cape collar is optional if you want collar for your neck then attach near about 15".Now close it tightly close with idiot cord. Stitch the ending of edge, front and border. Level front and back by short shaping near the border. The back neck must be raised with the same shaping method. According to your body or fitting you have to take proper measurements.
To give the pattern or shape to your caplet enter your stitch as well as row gauge. When you are well worth with the knitting the try for these patterns but yet this is the simplest pattern among the all.

This pattern has around 8 increased rays and about 2 shoulder darts. On back side also you have to knit around 4 decreased rays. Place around 10 stitch markers to locate the rays. For further reference label them as 1f, 2f, 3f for front side and same for back side as 2b, 1b, etc. while knitting down you have to increase about one stitch on both the sides for each stitch marker for every 6 rows.

For this just go on stitching across the unit on stitch lefts before the marker. Skipping this marker again go on stitching and continue it. For this learn to stitch odd number now increase knit from both the sides as well as purl side of the fabric. For purl the same procedure you have to repeat as mentioned above.

When your cape become sufficiently long so as to cover up your shoulder then stop it increasing further. Except this keep knitting for border side. But just before hem you have to work for the short rows so as to level back and front properly. In this pattern the back is longer than front.
After completing this short row you will complete the knitting for your capelet and your new pattern caplet is ready to use.

There has always been a creative appetite in mankind. To unfold this creativity, one could create thousands of designs which are really eye catching. One may mix and match the diverse colors of yarns available in the market and create their unique designs. These designs should move with the current fashion trends and at the same time easy to understand and create.

Candlemaking - An Introduction

ที่ 7:46 PM 0 ความคิดเห็น
By Angela Vorster

Candlemaking is a very exciting and enjoyable hobby as it is easy to learn. The only limitations are your imagination. In today’s modern world candles are still very popular, even though they are no longer only used as a source of light. Candles are used symbolically for many special occasions such as weddings, christenings, barmitzvahs as well as romantic candlelit dinners or just simply to enjoy the ambiance created by lighting a candle and enjoying its scent.

Shop-bought candles can be very generic and not particularly unique. If you really want unique candles, the best is to make them yourself. Candlemaking allows you to express your creativity as well as providing a wonderful way of decorating your living space and turning a house into a home.

Making candles is very interesting and yet the basics are relatively simple to learn. The key to success is practice and experiment until you have the desired result. The basic necessities for this craft aren't expensive. The costs involved depend entirely on whether you want to make candles for your own enjoyment and gifts for others or you want to set up a candlemaking business. You will need the following to start your new, exciting hobby:

Use a stove as your heat source. If using a gas stove, make sure that the wax does not come into direct contact with the open flame.

The wax that you have decided on. Once you have decided what type of candle you’re making, you can choose the wax most suitable for the candle.

A wick that is suitable for the type and size of candle that you are making.

The mold that you have chosen. This can be anything that can withstand heat which will allow you to remove the completed candle, or in the case of container candles, will withstand the heat of a burning candle. Usually, if it can withstand boiling water, it is suitable as a mold. You can find something in your kitchen, such as a jar or even a juice carton. Just make sure that the container will not crack or melt once the candle is poured. You can also buy ready-made molds online or at candlemaking supply shops.

Set up a double boiler on your stove. You can use a small saucepan inside a larger saucepan using a metal ring, such as a cookie-cutter, to lift the smaller saucepan off the bottom of the large saucepan. This also makes it easier to get to the wax. You can also buy saucepans that are designed for candlemaking, although this can be costly and is not necessary when just starting out.

A lipped pouring jug.
A fragrance or essential oil and dye if you wish.
Putty, such as plumber’s putty, or mold sealer to seal the mold.
A thermometer (temperature control is essential for candles with a beautiful finish).
Use a candy thermometer as an ordinary household thermometer is not graded to the high temperatures used in candlemaking.
Kitchen scales, preferably digital, for accurate weight measurement.
Stainless steel measuring cups and spoons.
Heat-resistant gloves to protect your hands.
These are the basic necessities that you require to learn and enjoy the craft. Now you need to add your imagination to the mix and you are on your way to candlemaking success!

Types of Paper That Can Be Used To Make Flowers

ที่ 7:43 PM 0 ความคิดเห็น
By Sarah H

There are many different types of paper which can be used for making paper flowers. For instance Pith paper which is smooth and white as a bone, it comes from the pith of the Tetrapanax papyriferum plant (Hook). This plant remained a mystery for years until samples of the pith paper were carried back to England to be studied by Botanists among them Sir William J. Hooker, hence the nickname (Hook). In the 1950's a living specimen of this plant was exported to England. It originated in the swampy forest of China and Taiwan where it is referred to as “tung-tsao” which means “hollow-plant”, “toong-tsao” or “bok-shung” and has been used for making artificial flowers and decorations for centuries however, it became popular in the eighteen hundreds as a surface for watercolors paintings.

In order to produce the Pith paper, the boughs have to be boiled and freed from bark and the cut up core of the pith is then rolled on a hard flat surface against a knife, where it is cut into thin sheets of fine ivory-like material. The white sheets are used mainly for watercolor surfaces and the dyed sheets are used solely for the use of creating artificial flowers.

Mulberry is used to make the paper which is commonly mistaken for Rice Paper but is not actually made from Rice at all but from fibers of the bark of the Mulberry Tree. It was called Rice Paper because it was used to make packets for rice. The fiber comes from the bark of the tree and not from the pith or inner wood and the paper is traditionally made solely by hand. This type of paper is also known as (washi, kozo, gampi or mitsumata) depending on which type of Mulberry Tree is used to make it. The branches are harvested in the fall so the fiber is processed and the paper formed during the winter months, because the fiber goes bad in the heat.

Paper flowers can also be made from Tissue Paper, which is the easiest and cheapest paper to work with on these projects. Tissue paper comes in different grades and colors so there is quite a variety to choose from. For example you have tissue paper napkins, toilet tissue paper and paper towels which are also made of a stronger type of tissue and which comes in different patterns and colors making for brighter and more colorful flowers. It is so simple to use that even young children can make paper flowers with them, without much adult supervision.
Another type of paper is Cupcake Wrappers, which is a sort of grease proof paper, which is also easy to manage and suitable for small children. Cupcake Wrappers are usually used to make cupcake flowers and Cupcake Corsages.
