Archeologist reports that we can read about our ancestors just from their clay artifacts. In ancient era potters wheel were set into pits driven by kicked flywheels.

Modern ceramicist associate there work with the ancient pottery of the land. It's a controversial debate that would it be possible that would it be possible to keep the tradition of the land alive and give the historical and spiritual context to the modern art.

In the ancient tradition wood fired ceramics are considered more durable and of high aesthetic values. In Pakistan keeker wood is considered the best to use firing in Kiln. Scraps, veneers and fruit crates are also good for such firing.

In Korean tradition of wood-firing, which is of major importance to fire around the world, woo-fired pots considered spiritual. It is made of natural elements, earth, fire, wood (nature), air and human energy, so it is considered nearer to God.

Japan used apples & Hiba wood for firing in kiln. The firing cycles range from 2-5days & fired upto 1,250 centigrade or above.

The pyrotechnic ability of wood makes it a better choice then the other methods like gas or electric firing. Though wood firing is a lengthy procedure but is preferable. The evidence of ash deposits, the thermal shock, charcoal inclusions gives a rich look to the ceramic pots.

Potters have a symbiotic relationship with the nature. In the process of wood firing many pieces would lost, break but the left one gives a rare and quite beauty having a magical visual effects.
